Dzogchen Retreat - Knowing the Nature of Mind

Lead by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche

The Buddha teaches us that we each possess, as our true nature, a pure, all-encompassing wisdom far more profound than we can possibly imagine. Through the practice of Dzogchen, we can come to recognize the unimpeded nature of our own mind and embody our innate compassionate essence.

The purpose of the retreat, designed for both beginners and advanced practitioners, will introduce us to this natural state that has, in fact, always been with us. Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche will impart simple, yet powerful, guidance that will allow us to train, step by step, in unfolding our innate essence.

Born in 1951, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche is an accomplished high Lama of the Kagyu tradition and abbot of one of the largest monasteries in Nepal. Eldest son of the eminent dzogchen master, His Eminence Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, both father and son are descended from the renowned 19th century Nyingma treasure-finder, Terchen Chokgyur Lingpa.

For almost four decades, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche has been teaching Westerners worldwide. With a concise, lucid and entertaining approach, he imparts the very core of the Buddhist teachings, revealing the natural simplicity of Enlightened Mind.

Rinpoche is founder of the Rangjung Yeshe Institute for Advanced Buddhist Studies in Kathmandu, and spiritual head of a global network of Dharma Houses and Buddhist retreat centers known as Rangjung Yeshe Gomdes. In addition to having a number of his own writings in print, such as Present Fresh Wakefulness and Medicine and Compassion, Rinpoche established Dharmachakra Publishers who have produced numerous scholarly translations. Based at his monastery in Nepal, www.dharmasun.org broadcasts online Buddhist study programs and Rinpoche’s popular weekly Saturday Talks.

Pre-registration is required. Registration is by check only in the amount of at least $250.00 with the remainder due 10 days before the retreat. (If payment can be made now, that would be appreciated) Checks should be made out to CNR Teachings and sent to:
CNR Teachings, P.O. Box 332, Northampton, MA, 01061.
