- Joel Baehr

- Joel Baehr is a pastoral psychotherapist and Buddhist teacher in private practice, with offices in Cambridge, MA and Old Greenwich, CT. A Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, Joel has been an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister for over 40 years. He has been a retreat leader, a consultant to many businesses and non-profit groups, and has coached many executives. Joel is the author of an article, "Buddhist Practice-based Psychotherapy," to be published by the Journal of Spirituality in Mental Health. He has been a student of Lama John Makransky, Lama Surya Das, and other Tibetan Buddhist Lamas for 14 years including many retreats. Joel has served on a numerous non-profit boards of directors. He currently teaches Natural Wisdom and Compassion meditation in a number of settings, including the Suffolk County (MA) Jail.

- Ken Bent

- Ken Bent is a small business owner, buying and reselling used warehouse equipment. He lives in Warwick, RI. Although his adult life has been spent in warehouses, his spirit has always wandered toward the road of open awareness. He has been a regular meditator for over 30 years. Since meeting Lama Sura Das in 2002, his study and practice has been in the Dzogchen tradition, attending retreats and teachings with Lama John Makransky, Lama Willa Miller, Lama Surya Das, Charles Genoud and Brendan Kennedy. He has come to appreciate and value the Natural Wisdom and Compassion practices in his daily life and is now focusing his efforts in support of these practices and the Foundation for Active Compassion.
Ken teaches NWC Meditation in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island.
- Jane Burdick

- Jane Burdick has been a Movement Specialist and a Certified Feldenkrais Teacher for twenty years. She has a private practice in Portland, Maine, and does workshops for the general public, for women with specific pelvic difficulties, for those who would like more ease in meditation, and classes for those with cancer and Parkinson's Disease. She also teaches Tibetan Yoga.

- Terry Conrad

- Terry is one of the first Buddhist Certified Volunteer Chaplains in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He is the founder of Project Clear Light, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to outreach to Buddhist inmates, in Texas and worldwide. He sponsors dharma study groups in four Texas prisons, publishes an inmate produced newsletter and sponsors a prison based Ethics Class based on the book Ethics for a New Millennium by His Holiness the Dali Lama. He corresponds with over 100 inmates providing teachings and practice support through a correspondence course based on the Lojong teachings. A forty-year student of Buddhism, Terry has been a student of Lama Surya Das, Lama John Makransky and Charles Genoud for over a decade and has attended retreats and teachings with many other teachers, including His Holiness Drukpa Rinpoche, Adzom Rinpoche and Kentrul Rinpoche. Terry has a master's degree and has taught art, art history and design at the high school, university and graduate level. He has been a successful artist, designer, builder and businessman, and has served on local, state and national cultural boards and foundations. He lives and works in Galveston, Texas.
Terry teaches NWC Meditation in Galveston and in the prison system in Texas.
- Cathy Cornell

- Cathy Cornell is a licensed clinical social worker, currently in private practice, in New York City. A longtime Buddhist practitioner, she seeks to integrate contemplative practice into her social activism and into her clinical work with others, especially those who have suffered from traumatic experiences.

- Nancy Dale

- Nancy Dale, MPH, has served in management positions in the field of aging for many years. Nancy is a certified coach with a private practice specializing in organizational, career, and life transitions. She co-facilitates workshops in Caregiver Stress Reduction and Meditation in the Boston area and is on the Board of the Foundation for Active Compassion.

- David Ekstrom

- David is currently working in Sustainable Design and studying architecture. He lives in Jamaica Plain, MA with his wife Leah. He prefers to commute by bicycle.
- Aaron Goldstein

- Aaron Goldstein has been practicing meditation for 8 years, and has spent around 4 months of his year on retreat for the past 5 years. All of this time, he practiced under the close guidance of Lama Surya Das, Lama John Makransky, Lama Willa Miller, Charles Genoud and Brenden Kennedy. The Natural Wisdom and Compassion meditations have served as an underlying foundation to the way he practices. Aaron's background includes social service to the homeless community and starting and running an artist-activist magazine. He currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he practices massage therapy, volunteers at a local buddhist center, and guides meditation.

- Mary Herzog

- Mary Herzog LMHC, LCAT, FAC board member, is a licensed mental health counselor and creative arts therapist in private practice in NYC. She has attended retreats with the Dzogchen Center, Tsoknyi Rinpoche and Adyashanti. She has been practicing Natural Wisdom and Compassion meditations under the guidance of Lama John Makransky for the past seven years.

- Betty Holmes

- Betty Holmes has studied and trained for the past fourteen years with Lama Surya Das and Lama John Makransky as well as H.H. Drukchen Rinpoche and Lama Willa Miller in practices of Wisdom and Compassion from the Tibetan Dzogchen tradition. She is also a longtime student of Tenshin Reb Anderson of the San Francisco Zen Center. She received her master's degree in counseling from St. Edward's University and is trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy, Hakomi Loving Presence and Gottman Method Couple's Therapy. She serves as a facilitator for the Sacred Vocation program of the McGovern Center for Health, Humanities and the Human Spirit at the U.T. Health Science Center at Houston and as an Assistant Trainer for the Center for Self Leadership in Oak Park, Illinois. She sits on the boards of the Austin and Houston Zen Centers and Natural Dharma Fellowship in Boston.

- Paul Knitter

- Paul Knitter is the Paul Tillich Professor of Theology, World Religions, and Culture at Union Theological Seminary, New York. Most of his research and writing over the course of 38 years of teaching has been in the area of interreligious dialogue. He has recently published Without Buddha I Could Not Be a Christian (Oneworld Publications).

- Lili Knutzen, MA, MED, LMHC is a licensed mental health counselor and
psychotherapist in private practice in New York City. She has been
